Air

Temporada 1

The National Air Quality Report in 2016 stated that none of the 19 cities evaluated in Mexico met the acceptable standards for the country's PM 2.5. Poor air quality is wrongly justified as an unavoidable externality for development.

The best example of this reality is Monterrey, the country's iconic industrial city, whose air quality is one of the worst in all of Latin America. There are millions of cars, quarries within city limits, industries, and a refinery that sends its emissions to the city. The unexpected recovery of a river made it possible to reduce pollution in the area and capture large particles from its humidity and vegetation. The solution of allowing nature to recover its space and recuperate has already been proven in Monterrey.
