It initiates by questioning how the pandemic, being just one more problem, came to overload an already deficient health system, highlighting its shortcomings. As a start, all that has been done in Mexico and the region to save lives, the vaccination policies and how the civil society has participated so far, is laid on the table; also, what are the actions that the government would need to take to adapt to the cultural, social and genetic needs of the population and where is the limit of what is public and what is private.
