This episode talks about family ties from a political and cinematographic perspective.
Ana Katz is an Argentine actress, screenwriter, director, and producer. She has alternated and worked in parallel in these roles throughout her own filmography of six feature films that premiered at festivals such as San Sebastián, Sundance and Cannes. Has also collaborated with colleagues from Argentina, Spain and Uruguay such as Carlos Sorín, Paco León, Pablo Stoll and Juan Pablo Rebella. In films such as El juego de la silla, Sueño Florianópolis, Mi amiga del parque y El perro que no calla, she has examined with unpredictable humor the idea of family, weaved by unstable and deeply uncomfortable characters.
On the other hand, Pablo Stoll is a Uruguayan screenwriter, director, producer, and editor. Along with Juan Pablo Rebella, he directed two works that have become great milestones in the latest boom in Latin American cinema: 25 Watts and Whisky, films with minimalist narratives through which he has explored other faces of friendship, family, and romantic love. The Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, Rotterdam and Toronto have hosted the premiere of these films and his other two solo feature films, Hiroshima and 3.
After collaborating together on Whisky, Ana and Pablo have forged a friendship and in this episode they talk about their respective filmographies to confirm a common element: that private life can also be political.
